We love to ride — that’s why we opened Frame Up Bikes! We ride both mountain and road, and so we lead regular, casual, no-drop rides from the shop. Several local groups, such as the Hercules Cycling Club and DMC also use our shop as their starting point for group rides. The best place for the most up-to-date information on rides from our shop is our Facebook group, Strava club, Instagram page or sign up for our newsletter at the bottom of this page and select “Road Biking” and/or “Mountain Biking” as an area of interest.
Sunday Morning Road Rides
Starting at Frame Up Bikes, the usual ride is 3-4 hours and the distance varies based on the elevation gain and particular route. Most rides include a coffee/social stop. All rides are no-drop but we do request that you have some cycling fitness as the East Bay has many tough climbs.
Weekday Evening Mountain Bike Rides
Our after work mountain bike group rides are running every-other week on either Wednesday or Thursday. We ride from shop to either Shell Ridge or Lime Ridge with a total ride time of 2-2.5 hours, 15 miles and 2000 feet of climbing. From late summer (late-August) to early spring lights are required. We recommend both a headlamp and a bar light of at least 700 lumens. A working taillight is required by the law when we are riding to and from the open spaces.
Official Strava Club
Oh! Here is the official Frame Up Bikes club on Strava if you’d like to join us. We are pretty good about posting the group road ride route in advance. The mountain route is usually determined based on the skill and fitness level of the group.
